The Spotted Pony A gallery of fine art photography presented by Dona Bollard and Billy Hyden Frames and Framing
We consider framing to be the final touch in the process of our artwork, and while our work always looks great in a natural wood, such as oak, maple, or ebony, we choose to frame our work in Vintage frames. We have numerous sources for these old beauties and work carefully to pick and choose just the right old frame to compliment our work. The frames we choose are truly one of a kind pieces which blend tastefully with the beautiful lines of a horses mane or the sensuous curves of the goddesses spirit. Some frames are old wooden window frames from remodeled native pueblo buildings, and some are from fine old Victorian homes. All have been rescued from sure destruction. These are character pieces, with missing gesso, missing paint, no paint or just experience badges which merit retirement as magnificent pieces of true southwest Americana fine art. Nevertheless, we have revived them, cleaned them up and given them new life to showcase our art. We frame using only museum, acid free matt board and backing.
